Eskel holds up his hands, mostly placatingly but he's not above preparing a sign in his mind just in case.

You'd think he'd personally catalogued these women instead of just being the authority figure charged with finding them. It was kind of...I dunno, creepy, you know? And there's definitely people in town who know more than they're telling. I figure some of them know you and some of them know what's up with the mayor-- or both-- but couldn't get them to budge on either. So...you're the kind of guy people trust, I guess. Or fear. Familiar with that feeling."
